Key Technology & Manufacturing Employers This sector has seen the most explosive growth, with Bastrop serving as a primary operations hub for several global tech ventures. 

EdgeConneX is developing a massive $1.44 billion, 2.8 million-square-foot data center campus in Cedar Creek, Bastrop County, with the first 578,000-square-foot facility (AUS02) set to open in 2027. Located near FM 535 and Wolf Lane, this project is designed for AI and cloud computing, featuring four buildings and a significant job creating operation.

SpaceX / Starlink: Operates a 1-million-square-foot facility and is a top private employer in the county.

The Boring Company: Headquartered in Bastrop, this tunneling firm employs hundreds at its research and design facility.

xAI: Relocated its global headquarters to Bastrop in 2024, occupying a significant corporate compound.

Agilent Technologies: A major life sciences and technology manufacturer located in the Bastrop Business Park.

LS Electric: Opened its first North American production facility in 2025 with a $240 million investment.
