About me

Becki Womble’s journey from Abilene, TX to becoming a leading figure in Central Texas’s business community is marked by dedication, innovation, and leadership. At the same time ingrained with a respect for history as a third generation Chamber leader. For these reasons, she has not only been commissioned as a Yellow Rose of Texas by Governor Greg Abbott, received a Congressional Patriot Award and is the 2025 Art Roberts Award Winner. Growing up in Abilene, Becki graduated from Abilene Cooper High School before pursuing higher education at Texas Tech University and ultimately earning her BBA from Hardin-Simmons University with a minor in Marketing. Early in her career, Becki worked as a sales representative for a local printing company, where her commitment to community service shone through. She actively volunteered with the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and she was recognized as Ambassador of the Year in 1995. She is also a graduate of Leadership Abilene. In 2008, Becki and her husband made the move to Lockhart, TX, driven by the rapid growth of Central Texas and the new opportunities it presented. It was here that Becki began her Chamber career at the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, where she was pivotal in launching several initiatives aimed at enhancing membership engagement. A major achievement during this time was the comprehensive 2012 overhaul of the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce website, which included the creation of individual member pages, an interactive directory, and a community calendar. Since August 2014, Becki has served as the President and CEO of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, where her leadership has brought remarkable advancements. She graduated from the Chamber Institute Southeast with her Institute for Organizational Management (IOM) in June 2015 and earned the prestigious Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designation in June 2021. Under her leadership, the Chamber has seen transformative changes, including a complete CRM system conversion, a redesign of the Chamber’s website, and the launch of five additional websites to support Chamber initiatives. Her strategic restructuring of membership investments from a ‘fair share’ to a ‘tiered dues’ model resulted in a 400% increase in investor revenue and the growth of the membership base from 600 to over 800 members. Her most notable accomplishment is achieving US Chamber Accreditation with a Five-Star designation, one of 154 in the nation, it is a testament to the excellence of the Chamber under her leadership. In addition to her role at the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, Becki serves on several boards and committees. She is Chair Elect for Bastrop County Cares, serves on the Association Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Board of Directors, is Vice Chair for Membership on the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE), and a Board member for Discover Bastrop, the city’s destination marketing organization. She is often asked to speak at other Chambers and community events. Becki and her husband Rick, who made Bastrop their official home in December 2014, are proud parents to two grown sons, Lealan and Cason, and a daughter-in-love, Victoria. Becki’s family and community are central to her life’s work and success.
